Kartarkiv.no is a service offered to clubs that want to manage their orienteering maps in an efficient and secure manner. The service is provided by Konkylie Data AS.
Karkarkiv.no is designed for storing map files for orienteering sport on the file formats OCAD or OMAP and puts all the club's maps in a dedicated folder, which only the club's selected members have access to. Access can be granted to all club maps, or one map at a time separately.
The club can also grant access to an external contact, or share maps with users in e.g. the neighboring club.
The main idea behind the map archive is version management.
Every time a map is downloaded for correction, a copy of the current version is left on the server, so that others can use it as for e.g. vourse setting while the changes are in progress. When downloading for correction, an email message is sent to everyone who has access to the map telling that the map is now locked for modification by anyone other than the person downloading it. Similarly, a message is sent to release the lock when the map is uploaded after correction.
For each map, one or more outlines of the area covered by the map can be drawn. Drawn maps can thus be displayed to the public in an overview map. Each outline can be linked to a facility number from the application process for public funding.
The club can choose to facilitate the download of selected map snippets with or without payment.
If the map is to be sold, the club can choose to sign an agreement with Vipps, and thus receive payment for the map directly into the club's bank account (in Norway only).
Prices for using kartarkiv.no is available on the page [Prices and services] Prices and services . Prices are stated excluding VAT and you will receive the total amount including and excluding VAT (Norway only) while filling in the form.
If you would like more information about using or ordering the service, please contact Konkylie Data AS.
Have you tried the new map app ZippyGO?? It can be used via app (downloaded where you normally download apps for your mobile), or you can use it from a browser.
Via the admin panel, it is super easy to upload a georeferenced map file and adapt it precisely to the background. Watch video on YouTube .
Once this is done, the map can be reused countless times. And you don't just need to use o-maps. How about letting your imagination run wild creating a (georeferenced) pirate map...
